A pleasant home spun, front room recording debut solo album from the veteran writer/singer with grassroots rockers 4th Dimension. Mostly ethereal, tinkly guitar/piano, minor sevenths/major sevenths with very elastic timing where kit and bass kick in. Dave is worship leader at a Pentecostal church in the Fawley area of Hampshire, within nostril range of the refinery. I particularly enjoyed a Gerry Rafferty feel in some of these original songs, all written by Dave; "More Like You" and "Here I Stand". In all honesty, the whole feel is quite dated, fidelity and general in-tuneness not so hot, but Bible-basedness is as sound as the Solent on a sunny day and in the hands of a cool producer, future works could leap to life given more contrast between songs - the constant stream of minors gets a bit turgid after a while.
