David Meece released his first album in 1976, and by 1995 had released 12 albums showing some enduring popularity and success. His 13th album, 'There I Go Again', was released in 2002, with this compilation being only his second release in 10 years. For someone who was once a front runner in contemporary music, this compilation is a look back to those early days. David's website describes him as someone who "not only set the tone for the industry but continues to modernise it with a consistent heart towards God." This compilation of early material makes no effort to modernise the CCM scene, and is best described as "retro" in a Leo Sayer sort of way. David's classical training is obvious with the introduction to "This Time" being distinctly classical, leading into a 1980's electro-pop sound. The ironic lyric must be "no backward glance" which this compilation clearly is. If you remember David at the height of his popularity you may enjoy a walk down memory lane; if not, then "the past is behind us".
