The CD cover looks harmless enough, but amidst a classy blend of rock, blues and gospel there are some razor-sharp lyrics and infectious ballads. These reflect David's amazement at God's love and forgiveness for him; I found myself compelled to re-evaluate my own relationship with Jesus as I listened. "Please" is an impassioned plea for greater intimacy with God: if it has no effect on you, start sleeping in the freezer - you're dead! The album has class oozing from every micropore; the musos are fantastic, the arrangements amazing: the musical surprise at the end of "Help" can only be described as "Smokin!". David Mullen has one of those gargle-with-corborundum voices in the Bryan Adams/Sting mould, which adds depth to the ballads and a powerful edge to the rockier numbers. In the duet with Beth Nielsen Chapman, an impressive blend of velvet and gravel, there are some spine-tingling harmonies. "That's the beauty of love - it never lets our hearts give up." No words can do justice to this album, you need to buy it, listen by yourself and be inspired to deepen your relationship with the Lord. "Your soul will bend when you take a bit of life - taste so sour - try a slice of heaven!"
