David is the American born frontman of metal/thrash team No Longer Music and this is his testimony. It's gripping stuff, avoiding the excesses of "I used to bite the heads off chickens but now I'm saved" shock-horror testimonies. Instead the book documents an effective rock music ministry - in the red light district of Amsterdam YWAM's European headquarters (with whom NLM work), evangelistic trips to Poland and (get this) Mongolia. It's a shame NLM's music isn't better known here (Kingsway missed a stroke by not releasing an album to coincide with this publication). Hopefully this breathlessly written ghosted autobiog will help to both encourage more rock musos to plunge into sharp end ministry. It's tough but that's where the blessing is.
