It's a privilege to receive an album which must have a chance of reaching the very top of the p&w chart. The studio production is a fine achievement by David Ruis and his team. David is a Vineyard (Canada) worship leader and has led worship in the UK, notably at Brighton in 1995. All 12 songs were written by him and are a real listening experience (around 65 mins). There is a variety of pace, style and mood and simple focus on our Father God and our Lord Jesus and our response to what he has called us to be. The title track was part of a live worship set (which I happened to review in CR28) but this version is better. It's a prayer for unity and the words which David sings additionally to those on the sleeve are a challenge to us all. it's an essential prayer for the Church body in time of expectation. The notes say, "Just as the dividing wall between God and man has been destroyed through the cross of Christ, so we in his name break down walls of hostility we encounter on this earth. The joining of the man's, woman's and child's hand on the cover represent the coming together of male and female, generations and traditions. The different colours represent the coming together of races, social "classes", nations and denominations." The words of Ephesians 2:14-16 are subtly disguised behind the credits. While I find David sounding like Kevin Prosch, Russ Taff (and even Neil Diamond), he himself has been blessed with great gifts and I recommend that you check this out.
