Grammy and Dove-nominated urban gospel singer Dayna Caddell has returned after a four year hiatus brought on by an autoimmune illness and the resultant album tells something of the Los Angeles-based songwriter's reliance on God through her struggles. Kicking off with the slick R&B of "Adore" and "Happy Like Me", Caddell's soulful vocals shine through on a release that centres on the hope and joy found in Christ no matter the circumstances. For instance, the likes of "So Grateful" and "Overjoyed" - featuring guest appearances from gospel stars Israel Houghton and Eric Dawkins respectively - are songs of heartfelt worship whilst the funk-tinged "God Loves You" sees Caddell use her past experiences and her standing as a positive role model to young women to communicate the love of Jesus. Closing an otherwise buoyant release in downbeat fashion, only the workmanlike "Out" fails to make the grade against the quality of material found on the remainder of an album that signals the welcome return of one of gospel music's most talented exponents.
