On this his second EP Nashville-based Devin delivers a short but quality rock set. He has built on his previous experience working with the likes of Jeff Deyo and Mac Powell to produce an impressive set of six songs. Opening with the title track, the album kicks off with a grungy, guitar-driven cut that is at times reminiscent of both Nirvana and Creed. Devin's vocals are distinctive and expressive. Although he can belt out verses with a rough edge there is also a smooth depth to his voice. As 'Overload' progresses, the intensity of the tracks drops slightly leaving the overall style sitting somewhere between Jeremy Camp and Building 429. Devin's songwriting talent is best heard in the quieter "Starting Over" which sits well against the full-on rock openers. Lyrically Devin ranges from praise and worship to tackling social issues, all without apology and wearing his faith on his sleeve. The production and mixing, which is excellent throughout, gives this package a quality feel.
