I was looking forward to this, having loved 'Sunday Best' from the ex-First Call duo's previous album. Another of the US's proliferation of husband/wife teams doing their stuff, this is okay but they've probably worked a little TOO hard on this set. Sure, Mel's voice sounds good (near Karen Carpenter's style in some ways) and Dick plays some fancy tunes on piano, but there's nothing here with the humour of another 'Sunday Best'. Of the 12 tracks (well actually 11, as one is just a little chat between husband and wife, and is the nearest to humour that we get here) the best moments are "When I Look At You" - a love song between Dick and Mel, and a lovely "To Be Like Jesus". But despite all the smooth vocalisng and exemplary playing too many of the songs are dull. Disappointing follow-up.
