Jim Katsis, better known as Dimitri, has made quite an impact in the West Country, doing a series of concerts at the Carlton Theatre, Teignmouth and being interviewed on TV and radio (including Cross Rhythms Sunday Experience). 'Surrender' has so much guts, passion and luminous joy that it magnificently transcends its tiny recording budget, no mean feat when one considers the expensive, production-dominated nature of Dimitri's chosen forte, pop-rock. His voice is effective, with the same kind of wheezing, reedy expressiveness that worked for Andy Fairweather-Lowe decades back, Dimitri's guitar work excellent and given a decent budget and producer to sort his ideas out this guy could make a classic album. In the meantime, support this frontline ministry.
