In this follow up to his independently released album 'He Accepted Me', Eddie Reddic - who hails from Houston Texas - displays his excellent musicianship and songwriting skills. This album showcases some of his original, bright jazz-influenced compositions that are essentially somewhere between southern gospel and R&B, jam-packed with Biblical lyrics and positive stories. Unfortunately, Eddie's insistence on using the Authorised Version of the Bible meant that I couldn't help smirking at the song about getting away from the stresses of life in "The Secret Closet"! Also, I could have done with more creativity in the lyrics and more room for reflection in Eddie's songs. Nevertheless, the energy of the backing singers add wonderfully to the delivery of these catchy up-tempo tracks, and Reddic's musicianship is shown to its full capacity on the two instrumentals. The overall result is a feel-good album that actually edifies you. This is not surprising as Mr Reddic has not only been in the gospel music ministry since being a teenager but has led a church for the past 18 years.
