Sitting in my Nashville hotel room late one evening watching TVU, an American Christian version of MTV, my attention was arrested by the video for the title cut of this EP and I immediately decided to get hold of their music. The band are actually three sisters, a brother and a bloke called Jon on bass. Their music is more difficult to describe but a mixture of indie rock'n'pop would probably cover it and to these ears they sound similar to Sixpence None The Richer in places. They seem determined to stay as ordinary as possible since they don't have any kind of image and they enjoy writing catchy songs. There's an innocence here that reminds me of the first Sixpence album. Ooops sorry, mentioned them again! "Memories" is a mid tempo haunting tune and "Sea King" adds a little atmosphere to the melody and the self-produced "The Winter Song" completes their second release and now I want the album to come out. If you like Sixpence, Over The Rhine or good music, you should check them out.
