Despite being available as a free download, this collection from the Charlotte, North Carolina megachurch debuted in the Billboard Top 40 following its release. Elevation Worship would fit in the more contemporary category of live worship recordings with drum/guitar-driven songs, such as the title track opener and "I Will Sing" though no one could say that this is breaking any new ground lyrically or musically. 'Only King Forever' sometimes slips into a more devotional/worshipful mode with tracks such as "Glory Is Yours" and "The Love Of Jesus", the latter featuring Darlene Zschech as a guest vocalist. Overall, the album has interesting moments but little to make it stand out in a very crowded live worship recording marketplace.

Actually I would disagree - this album has quite a few songs with more lyrical depth than most. 'Only King Forever' is one of those rare upbeat accessible calls to worship, and the lyrics in 'Grace so glorious' and 'Raised to life' are some of the best I've seen for a long time. 'Everlasting Father' in one of the favourites of our church.
