After the birth of the Elim Church movement in 1915, Elim Sound are now celebrating the church's centenary with this collaborative project of hymns and choruses, both new and old. Ian Yates and Trevor Michael have worked together to produce this 15-track album involving various worship leaders from across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. "Honouring the past, embracing the future" summarises the heart and vision behind this project which can be heard within the sound and song choices for 'Elim 100'. A 40-person choir, made up of Elim singers, accompanies the musicians and lead vocalists to bring a very full and stirring sound which definitely completes this worship album. The rearrangements of some classic 1800's hymns such as "Have Thine Own Way" and "Breathe On Me" are beautifully complemented by the newer and anthemic modern hymns "The Best Is Yet To Come", "No Longer I" and Jared Anderson's "The Great I Am". Musically, there is also a track to suit a variety of preferences from the reworking of the old hymn "Power In The Blood" into a modern folk style very reminiscent of Rend Collective, to the track "Higher" that sounds like it could be heard in a dance club. This is an album crafted for congregational worship and also perfect for times of personal devotion that will stir your soul, encourage your heart and realign your focus with Heaven.
