If you haven't yet seen the video for "Find You Here" I would urge you to stop reading this review for a second and get across to Youtube. The song is, in my book, one of the most stirring and perfectly formed pieces of pop I've heard for years and on first hearing made the same kind of impact on me that Amy Grant's "Lead Me On" once did in a different era. By a strange coincidence Ellie, as everyone knows, is the daughter of Brown Bannister who produced Amy's classic and the studio wizard is also one of the bevy of talents involved in this magnificent album. As long-time Cross Rhythms listeners will know, we have been admirers of Ellie's vocal and songwriting abilities since those years with Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors and here Ellie reaches a new creative peak, even surpassing her CCM solo debut album 'As Sure As The Sun'. Ellie recently told Cross Rhythms that 'Red Sea Road' was recorded during a time of great trial when she was dealing with her father's cancer diagnosis. Yet the album exudes hope and faith and the song "Wonderfully Made" is up there with "Find You Here" as another pop masterpiece. I hope many CR readers get to hear this album.
