An obviously well rounded performer and musician, Erica has produced an album showcasing a variety of styles topped off with a beautiful voice and an obvious ability to create music that is appealing to everyone. Her experiences and training have served her well and she clearly knows what is necessary to create an engaging album. Originally from Texas and now living in Nashville, this album shows a maturity in Erica's song writing, which is both minimalist and richly harmonious. The opening track really grabs your attention with enchanting harmonies and a sparse but full piano accompaniment. The chorus conveys a powerful message saying "Free my mind from the darkness of my soul/Give my feet the strength to walk the path unknown" it's just a shame the song ends so suddenly. There are some fun tracks including "Cool Beans" which in just one minute demonstrates the composers striking voice and imagination. Other tracks are more orchestral, "Beautiful City" seems to borrow the phrase from Pachelbel's Canon and uses it to full effect with choral accompaniment towards the end. This album melds acoustic, orchestral and rock genres together with an interesting jazz remix to finish off with, however the singer's voice does not lend itself to this style and it just does not suit the song or the record spoiling the final few minutes of the album.
