‘Wide Wide World’ is Erin’s fourth album - and her third record label - and gives a great showcase for her expressive jazz trained voice. Most of the songs are written by Erin’s husband Brad who has an uncanny ability to capture her thoughts and ideas and express them in music. The other major musical influence on this album is Cindy Morgan who wrote or co-wrote three of the songs, including the lyrically beautiful “This Is My Prayer” which is every parent’s prayer for their children. The whole album is very honest about faith and doubt and draws often on the emotions brought about by the changes that come from becoming a family. Erin’s vocal style and delivery and the quality of the lyrics make this album stand out from the pack of American female singers that seem to fill the adult pop market at the moment.
