Putting in its second appearance of the series is Bach's "Toccata And Fugue In D Minor", played not quite as memorably as the Foss version on disc two, but what surprised me most about this disc is not the predominance of Bach pieces, but the omission of any by his hero and sometime teacher, Buxtehude, who is perhaps one of the most famous and respected composers for the instrument. A nice thing about the recording however, is that it brings together works from the Renaissance to the last century, many of them played by the flamboyant Carlo Curley.
