I guess if you were to ask a nineteenth century woman what made her go weak at the knees, she might tell you that it was the music of Chopin. He is possibly the most romantic of the 'Romantic' composers. Almost all of his works are for the piano, and he stands in vivid contrast to Lizst who stretched piano playing to its technical limits, as a composer first and foremost of some of the world's most beautiful melodies. On the Disc are highlights from his 24 Preludes and 14 Waltzes played as well as you will hear them anywhere.
