Another two good orchestras, the Royal Promenade Chamber Orchestra and the Smithsonian Concerto Grosso make this an eminently listenable disc, as does the choice of pieces. In this instance they are well balanced and representative of some of Handel's greatest works. Included are the "Royal Fireworks Suite", the "Water Music" and excerpts from "Messiah", although the latter was not a favourite of mine as it feels a little rushed. The speed of Baroque pieces is a subject for debate but it does not detract from the quality of the recording. Another thing that does not work too well, mainly with the Tenor, is the ornamentation which was a little over the top. Not bad though.
