If I was asked to choose a Mozart overture to open a compilation disc, I think I would have chosen the overture to "The Marriage Of Figaro" rather than "The Magic Flute" as has been done here. Both pieces have been included and the version of the former used here is one of my all time favourites played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Again though, considering the ethos of the collection, there are no sacred works included here on one of the discs where they might have been most appropriate, and an obvious inclusion in keeping with the popular appeal of the collection is the Requiem Mass which was made so much of in the film. It does represent a wide sweep of Mozart's genius though from the "Jupiter Symphony" to the "Clarinet Concerto".
