At last! A disc that truly lives up to the advertising hype, a collection of choruses from sacred works by composers spanning the last 500 years, including Mozart's "Agnus Dei" from his Coronation Mass and Verdi's "Prisoners Chorus" from 'Nabucco' (Nebucadnezzar). The former is one of Mozart's most beautiful sacred arias and although the name of the soprano soloist here is not given, I think she is excellent. Many sops are so plummy that they would put anyone off, but here the singer has admirable clarity and control.
