This gentleman is an unknown quantity to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by this 14 track album which lasts around 52 minutes. The most obvious comparison of Fernando's music is with that of Simon And Garfunkle- gentle, melodic and satisfying. There is nothing on the album which leaps out and grabs you, but there is no need for that on this particular offering. It is essentially background music which you can comfortably relax to and appreciate at the end of a busy day. The lyrics are meaningful and thankfully differ from the usual collection of standard phrases that seem to regularly appear. The musicianship, production and overall sound are of a high quality and the album is well worth taking a risk on if you should happen to fancy something a little less frenetic. The only down point is that Myrrh will have to improve upon the presentation, packaging and hopefully the accompaniments (lyric sheet and credits for example) for the main release. The album deserves it.
