Scottish children's music ministry Fischy Music, headed up by singer/songwriter Stephen Fischbacher, have released an all age multi-media church resource based on the emotions expressed in the Psalms and to say you get your money's worth would be an understatement. Disc one is a CD containing 10 mostly Fischbacher-penned songs that are based around the Psalms together with accompanying backing tracks. Drawing in help from the likes of vocalist Suzanne Butler, Foundry Music Lab duo Graeme Duffin and Sandy Jones and Scottish harmonica maestro Fraser Speirs, the musical aspect of this release is of a refreshingly high quality with songs like the carnival-flavoured "E-N-J-O-Y" and the title track being genuinely enjoyable pieces of music in their own right whilst the likes of "Who Do You Think You Are?" and "In A Deep, Deep Place" are typical of the project's willingness to deal with deep and difficult emotions. Disc two is a DVD which sees British Sign Language being taught for each song followed by a run through of the whole song using BSL by a combination of Fischbacher, Butler or Awaken's Mark Cameron giving it their all before an image movie using simple but effective graphics to accompany the words completes the visual aspect of the package. The third and final disc contains music scores, Powerpoint presentations and teaching ideas to round off this sumptuous resource for the Church. As I said, value for money.
