If you were at this year's Summer Madness or Greenbelt festivals you may have caught this engaging three-piece outfit from Belfast. Musically Flumox are hard to define - 'industrial grunge' falls short but is a beginning. Hissing electronic hi-hats, pummelling guitars and throbbing bass grooves are the order of the day here as vocalist 'Hilarious Dave McHilarious' (Flumox obviously have a wacky sense of humour) places introspective lyrics over the mix. The introspection also displays integrity as shown in the heartfelt lyric of the final track: "This is not the time to fight/This is the time to forgive/This is not the time to die/This is the time to live". Having been together for less than a year Flumox have covered a considerable distance in a short time and with the aid of a gifted producer they could come up with the goods. In the meantime get your ears around this five-track offering.
