This Iowa-based band received mixed reviews for their debut album 'Ekklesia' but virtually all who listened praised (or noted) not only their musical proficiency but also their self-stated and obvious influence and sole reason for creating their music, Jesus Christ. The band have truly stepped up their game with this release and pull no punches on their musical and spiritual journey which this album takes the listener on without even stopping to apologise. With a concept based upon the interpretation of lives of different servants of God throughout Biblical history the ideas range from judgment on America in "Joel (The Watchman)" to the rising up of a new generation of Christians and a prayer for God's Spirit to descend in "Ezekiel (The Visionary)" and the themes just keep coming with each track bringing declarations which a number of Christian metal bands would rarely appear to have the courage to say. Musically the band have progressed a rather long way, with some occasional progressive elements now making their way into the songs. Guitarists Ryan and Mike offer some sterling fret work - they have moved away from the continual chugging riffs. The final track, "Talmidim (The Servants)" features Matti Montgomery's passionate spoken word prayer/speech. Overall, a huge improvement on 'Ekklesia' and a stunning musical experience.
