The intro to the album sees Buckinghamshire-based Forgive recounting how he was inspired by his youthful exuberance to fully commit to Christ, to "become fierce white lightning for Christ." This album is proper hip-hop, combining some tasty beats (particularly on "Bounce"), lyrical excellence with insight with a twist of eccentric humour ("I was taking a walk in the back of my car/I can say what I like on the mic, I'm a star"). Throughout the album Forgive confronts those who don't believe in a Creator while emphasising the fact that Jesus is alive on "He Ain't Dead". Experimental moments like the bass-less "Insane" and "Gritty City" add to the vibe, with the rapper declaring he wants to "see this London burning". Forgive brings things down in the powerful and convicting "This World Is For You" as he challenges absent fathers, and in the testimonial ode to his wife, "My Life Has Changed", challenges men to love their wives. 'Straight Fire' ends acoustically with "Broken Heart" in which we're encouraged to give our damaged hearts to God ("holiness is needed to mend our broken land/Give your body and heart, not your token hand"). All in all, this is inspiring, indie British hip-hop.

This proves that Christianity does not have to be detached from the real world, but that true Christianity is deeply involved in the nitty gritty of everday life, and that those who profess to follow such a way are not afraid to get involved in the broken communities that surround them.

I am looking forward to getting this album!
