Forty Days have followed up their debut 'Downpour' with another smoothly produced acoustic pop album marrying the band's distinctive vocal harmonies with loads of acoustic arrangements. They have deftly constructed a very pleasant album of catchy numbers that range from the foot tapping, harp blowing, "Mountain Top" with electric guitar to the fore and the driving "Way" through the acoustic rhythms of the up tempo "Here It Comes" and "Reminisce" to the gentler "Solace" and "Quiet". Polished, well produced music perfectly suited for the American coffee house scene, a good album but the band are yet to really stretch into greatness. Oh and don't forget to check out the hidden acapella version of "There Is A Redeemer" which closes the CD.

Reminiscent of those long journeys when you're a kid going on holiday. 10 minutes from the house, you're asking your dad whether you've arrived! Texas band Forty Days are on a journey in American Indieland! Originally coming to prominence with the 'Mindy's Revenge' release, this band are purveyors of acoustic pop which seems to be tremendously popular in the USA following the huge success of Jars Of Clay. So there are a pile of record companies following the money with According To John, FFH and Caedmon's Call all doing well. Forty Days are of a similar ilk presenting the listener with well-crafted acoustic songs, top harmonies and catchy tunes. There's much to enjoy here from the beefier opener "Mountain Top" and driving "Way" through the more introspective "Solace" and "Quiet". If you've enjoyed Jars or Crowded House, you should seek this one out. The band ask "Are We There Yet?" and the answer has to be, not quite but boy, are you close!

I have this CD. It doesn't have a release date. I bought"are we there yet?" In Dallas,TX in 2000 at the monster Christian store. Any more info about this CD. I must have a very limited edition?
