This four-track EP is the sophomore release from Freeslave and shows a distinct advance from the earlier 'Project Freedom'. 'Remember The Day' appears to be more of a collaborative affair that not only introduces additions to the Freeslave line-up from the Nexus Academy, but some great guest guitar work from Mark Cocks of Quench and also bass/production provided by members of Mr E and Replenish. The highlight for me has to be the opening track "Hiding Place", the rock style of which seems to suit Haydon's vocals well. The rockier introduction conceals the nature of the remaining tracks however, which are a little more laid back and less radio friendly. It seems like Freeslave are still to find their own "sound" and it will be interesting to hear where they end up. Definitely a band to keep an eye out for (or should that be an ear?!).
