Brave and varied gospel collection from brave and varied personnel. The ole man of Southern gospel, Bill Gaither, has teamed up with diverse associates in the guise of Mark Lowry, Guy Penrod and David Phelps to bring us staggeringly wide flavours of gospel music. Imagine Bee Gees, Hank Williams, Ry Cooder and the Beach Boys getting born again and then making an album together, then 'I Do Believe' is something like it would unfold. Musicianship, harmonies and fidelity are sometimes unbelievable; styles diverse and rich. I'll be keeping this one.
