A budget price album and an oddity from the "international ambassador of country music". Over a set of instrumental renditions of numbers like "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and 'Whispering Hope", George does homespun monologues full of folksey imagery and no little amount of spiritual insight (try "Touch Of The Master's Hand" or "The Cross In My Pocket"). Ever since the old hit "Deck Of Cards" (not on here) introduced a mass public to the religious country monologue, opinions have been divided - for some country monologues are an emotionally effecting genre, for others it's maudlin sentimentality guaranteed to make one reach for the sick bag.
