Ginny Owens has always succeeded at creating grown up pop music with mature lyrics and classy catchy tunes. After the poppy 'Something More' and the rootsy, jazzy tinges of her Margaret Becker-produced side project EP 'Blueprint', Owens returns with an album that reveals a more soulful sound. Although still firmly built around her strong piano and sweet voice, songs like "Won't That Be Fine" and "Always" sound like the most soulful she's ever recorded. The theme of security in God is a recurring theme of Ginny's work and appears again here on "Call Me Beautiful" and "To Trust You" as she sings about struggling with self image and loneliness. The overwhelming vibe here is packed with hope and optimism but Ginny has always done a great job delivering songs grounded in life's realities.
