CCM hitmaker Ginny has been quiet of late so it's good to hear her take on some old hymns with newly written tunes and arrangements as well as three new hymns that she co-wrote. One of these - the title track penned with Ronell Ragbir, a 20 year old cancer patient - is easily the standout of the album. It's a hymn with beautiful lyrics and melody, on which expresses the belief that in tough times we learn to depend on God's strength. Throughout this album the singer strikes an impeccable balance between traditional and contemporary sounds with touches of both Celtic music and black gospel making occasional appearances. Lyrically, you get to hear some deep poetry, prayers and laments. I trust that this album will introduce a goodly number of believers to hymns that contain so many deep truths missing in many contemporary Christian songs. Welcome back Ginny.

I purchased the cd recently of Ginny Owens 'Hymns and Songs
of Faith'. She has a most beautiful voice and I especially
like the singing 'How can I keep from singing'. My only
disapointment was that the words were not printed out in
full. I would like to obtain the lyrics if possible. I
have enjoyed immensely the whole cd. Marvellous and a great
blessing!
