GiveWay started as a youth worship band, based in South Derbyshire, in 2006. After initially playing cover versions of famous Christian rock songs, they grew in confidence and began writing their own songs. Although they supported YFriday and Superhero, it wasn't until 2010 when they hit their stride with slots alongside The Gentlemen, thebandwithnoname and BeBe Vox. This two song EP (surely that's a single) was recorded in Broadwater Studies and released in September 2009. Currently the band is made up of Jonathan Warnes (vocals and guitar) and Elliot Rose (guitar, piano and vocals). "Saved" opens with jangly guitar and gentle vocals before throwing in some stalwart riffing. It repeats the same verse while "Vicinity" has a more interesting lyrical twist that asks what you would do when you go into the afterlife and are faced by the living God. "What will I say when I'm in your vicinity?" it asks. Good question.
