There are very few artists in CCM with true longevity. We've seen 'em all come and go for 30 years but guitar virtuoso Phil Keaggy has seemingly always been there, always doing something new, always creating. This latest project sees Phil go full circle and reforming with Glass Harp, the prog rock band he was part of way back in the late '60s before he began to build his own rep as a solo artist. This reunion sees them rekindling their fire and recapturing their Cream-like blend of dynamic rock. The opener "Seven In A Box" kicks in with a classic Hendrix-style riff, the kind that Keaggy delivers so perfectly. The whole album drips with blistering hooks blended with crisp vocals, it's a rare treat to hear something so well-crafted. Daniel Pecchio and John Sferra prove themselves to be a tight and powerful rhythm section who are completely at home in the driving seat whilst Phil careers off the highway into one of his stunning solos. Check out "What's In Your Heart" or "Voice Of God Call Out" for some prime examples. You can hear samples of the tracks on the band's site, www.glassharp.net.
