Glynda released this truly moving album back in 2003 and all profits from its sale went to Wheels For The World, a Christian-based charity which supplies reconditioned wheelchairs for disabled people overseas. Glynda isn't the best folk-tinged singer you'll ever hear. But thanks to the production talents of Andy Hague (and some deft flute and whistles on several tracks from David Fitzgerald) any lack of tone and texture in Glynda's voice are largely overcome. Glynda's compositions deal with such difficult subjects as her beloved husband courageously dealing with the awful disease of multiple sclerosis (from the nursing home once told his wife "I haven't been miraculously healed of this MS but this closeness with Jesus is miraculous and nothing to complain about"). Equally moving is the song "Holy Dove" about which Glynda wrote on the sleevenote, "I remember expressing doubts as to whether 'Holy Dove' should be included on this album. I wondered whether the words were too esoteric. Were they delivering hurtful "pat" answers to the pressing theological questions with which we struggle when suffering becomes a personal reality in our lives?" I for one am glad the song made it to this album, which I would recommend to anyone who is going through suffering themselves or knows someone who is.
