I know nothing of Gordon Nelson (I did try!) but do not dismay, this is a very uplifting record, almost a prayer, mentioning Jesus as having died for everybody, though the title isn't necessarily referring to the one above. The lyrics work well in general, but Gordon isn't the greatest singer in the world, so it's fortunate that Sabrina Johnston is on backing vocals (as well as on keyboards). In fact, husband Ken produced the "Perfect Pair Original Mix", which I think could have been better, but the excellent spacey remix from Marshall Jefferson makes up for that. The flip-side contains two mixes from 'Splice Of Life', a "Classic Remix", which is the best mix overall, and a "Deep Dub", which is more yawn-inspiring than inspiring. So a very good, but not brilliant record that's worth a look if you enjoy the house genre.
