This album celebrates 100 years of the Salvationist singers from Govan, an area in Glasgow, and led by Matt Ramsey a pretty competent aggregation they are too. The collection contains both collective singing such as "Wake Up Oh Sleeper" (Graham Kendrick) and Chris Tomlin's "Crown Him" alongside solo led songs such as Keith Getty's "Power Of The Cross" sung by Matt Ramsey himself. A particularly engaging and enjoyable moment is the final track "Doxology" where the Songsters are joined by Govan's young people's Singing Company. The collection is a great reminder of the amazing work of this group, made up of people from all walks of life, who come together at the community church there.
