I discovered Graeme Clark's music when I helped set up a radio station at this year's Grapevine event. He's part of the Ground Level set up which seems to be awash with independent projects from musicians within the churches. This, of course, can only be a good thing! Graeme offers a good line in vibey guitar-driven pop rock praise similar in style to the stalwarts of Soul Survivor but incorporating enough of his own personality to make this unique. I have fallen in love with the seven minute intimate worship song "Arms Of Love" which has already been featured on repeat play on the Rimmer stereo. "Nothing Matters" and "Take My Life" are equally vibey, building on a rootsy foundation and sounding just fine. The latter feels more like something spontaneous than a congregational song. "Never Forget" is straight ahead upbeat guitar-driven praise illustrating that Mr Clark can write catchy songs that come in under four minutes long. If you want something that's big on vibe and rootsy in delivery, Graeme Clark could well be your man. I like this but wonder what would happen if Graeme focused on knocking out a few more upbeat songs to balance everything out a little. Apart from that, I love this!
