A case where the story behind the song is considerably more interesting than the record. Sri Lankan composer Nimal Mendis wrote the song after seeing a poverty stricken girl begging on the streets on Christmas eve and pondering the sight of a needy human in the throngs of Christmas shoppers. Unfortunately, the song, based loosely on the melody "Silent Night", isn't particularly strong and the gentle, shuffling synth accompaniment no more than adequate. Sri Lankan singer Gresha will need a better song than this (available for download for 49p at mediaeyeproductions.com) if she is to establish a British following.
