This CD celebrates 15 years since the film Brassed Off with its popular soundtrack featuring the band, and presents requests from the 2010-2011 tour. The collection presented here is very diverse including classical pieces, marches, film pieces and past pop tunes. Highlight to these ears include the uplifting sound of "Old Man River" from the musical Showboat, the western film theme A Fistful Of Dollars which features the whole cornet section, the arrangement of which was part of the award winning programme in the 2010 Brass In Concert Championships, and Jimmy Webb's "MacArthur Park", which sounds like it would be jaw-dropping live! Classically the energetic "Finale From William Tell "and Elgar's atmospheric "Nimrod" deliver the goods. This collection shows just how accommodating and diverse brass bands can be and is a hugely enjoyable collection.
