This 2014 release on the Swedish Ulterium label slots nicely into the brand of melodic power metal into which many of their roster fall. It ticks many boxes for fans of Scandinavian metal - fret board fireworks trade riffs with intricate keyboard work, all over rolling double pedalled bass. Harmony are an experienced group of musicians who have recently gone through a raft of line-up changes to emerge with this pleasing release. The most impressive addition to their team is the vocal talents of Daniel Heiman. His high register soars effortlessly through melodic gymnastics and even gives the likes of Michael Sweet a run for his money with the scream on "In Search Of". The stripped back feel of "Inhale" allows Daniel to showcase power and dynamics without the distraction of over involved melodies. Other winners on this set include the brooding title track and "What If" with its AOR feel. The production is solid throughout and has the crispness required to give the recording a classy feel. Fans of melodic metal with a progressive edge will certainly appreciate the skills that are displayed in this album that includes a couple of well-crafted ballads.
