A praise project of truly epic proportions. Recorded live in Johannesberg with 5,000 worshippers in attendance, the seemingly impossible musical marriage of the famed white Drakensberg Boys Choir, a black choir straight out of the townships and a band sporting American heavyweights like Abraham Laboriel, Alex Acuna and Justo Almario really catches fire. Worship leader Lionel Petersen is an excellent singer and an enthusiastic exhorter, while the songs, including the Heartbeat oldie "Behold The Lamb" and the joyful "Jabulani Africa", are of a high standard. I don't hear a great deal of the "indigenous sounds of South Africa" promised on the sleeve note, but I do hear an album with so much rhythmic kick and sheer praising power that it has to be recommended, particularly if you thought Hosanna! Music had got stale.
