There's something truly stirring about a Welsh tenor at full throttle, and this is a good example of what I mean. Huw Priday is a classically trained tenor who's won prizes at Eisteddfoddae, sung at all the lop opera houses with all the top companies, and appeared as principal tenor in "Phantom Of The Opera" in the West End. This generously filled CD (14 tracks checking in at over 62 minutes) is his testimony in song, demonstrating his love of singing for his Lord. Well-known pieces {"Blessed Assurance", "The Holy City", "How Great Thou Art", "The Lord's Prayer") are mixed with modern gospel songs and pieces in Welsh, and Huw is total master of the material. Simple accompaniment and good production means that Huw's voice can shine, and by gum does it shine - brimful of power, sensitivity and that indefinable Welsh 'hwyl'. Unreservedly recommended.
