It's hardly surprising that a long-time member of a "word of faith" church like Rhema Church, London should feature lyrics which are all positive affirmations of the benefits of following God and some might find the limited range of themes a little one dimensional over a whole album. But there's no denying Ian is a major talent and the fact that he's already achieved success in London's urban music mainstream with his production and programming. And assuming he sang the lead vocals on the worshipful "Greatly Exalted" (the sleeve credits don't make that clear) he's no slouch as a singer either. The major strength here is that several of the songs here have strong hooks (and indeed "Believer" has already received Cross Rhythms radio play) and the blend of undulating rhythms and nicely blended female harmonies will keep your head nodding. Standouts are the aforementioned title track and "Running Over" which features an effective rap interlude from Dwayne Tryumf. All in all, an enjoyable set for those who like their gospel messages delivered with a bit of urban savvy.
