Coming as a throwback to the bombast of '80s metal, with lashings of double kick and guitar shredage - but taking a few more risks than the genre traditionally allows - this debut release from this Indian metal band packs a fair punch. The musicians are acceptably competent, if a little rough around the edges, although the vocalist is definitely a screamer, and not a singer - his performance on "Return To Reality" leaves a little to be desired. Also, while it probably won't be a big deal for some, the drums on the album are programmed rather than performed live. Not that they don't do a good job of it, but in this genre, the lack of a real drummer can make the music sound a little flat. Reservations aside, the band's mix of '80s thrash nostalgia and in-yer-face lyrics (check out "Jesus Power") works quite well, and their debut is certainly a fun listen. I look forward to hearing more from these guys. Indian Christian metal, eh?
