These Bible memory songs feature simple truths so don't expect real help in your current wrestling with knotty problems. Obviously, these positive statements can only do you good, but the listener may experience a twinge of the "if only it was as easy as that" blues. The soloists on 'Guidance' tend towards the lesser known. The most interesting name is Karen Staley, in contemporary country circles she was given the hard push for a few years as a probable star, but it didn't seem to happen. A cynic might say... oh, never mind! Fine voice though. Standout track for me is "He Will Instruct Him" written by Bob Ayala (now there's someone who should be better known) and sung by the consistently superb Gary Chapman. Classy lineup of musicians, including Bruce Watkins, whom country fans will revere for his banjo and fiddle prowess. This set does its job efficiently.
