Seven piece band playing gentle jazz arrangements of newish worship songs. The programme thankfully avoids even further recycling of the old faithful ditties, so even a jaded reviewer can approach this instrumental set with curiosity and enthusiasm. Soft moods abound, skills are silky smooth, interpretations are easy going, so there's a real threat of nodding off by half-time. Make the effort though, 'cos playing ability like that of Carl Verheyen on guitar are finely-honed and mature. In fact, it would be a pity to relegate this to background music, these fine musicians deserve a careful listen.
