Isaac has played his part in developing the British gospel scene running independent label Zoe Records. However, this 2006 album of run throughs of Christmas evergreens unfortunately demonstrates his weaknesses as a recoding artist. This collection is clearly aiming for a chilled yuletide feel. Occasionally it's successful but only on the more upbeat gospel tinged tracks. "Go Tell It On The Mountain", for example, works reasonably well. However, elsewhere the album desperately struggles to engage, with deathly slow song pacing of traditionally buoyant carols and hymns. Although the songs prominently featuring the choir are pleasing enough, Isaac's own singing style is distinctly average with more than a few missed notes. Moreover, his enunciations and poor timing are frequently off-putting. With dated production values this really is one Christmas album you can do without.
