Isabelle Marie is a major Canadian country gospel artist and with this selection of songs, the title track she penned herself, covers many familiar, well-read biographical stories. “Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine” probes her troubled introspective relationship with her father (“O how I recall all the heartaches/Dear Daddy I caused you to bear.”). “House Without Love” is a painful examination of marital breakdown (“A house without love is not a home.”). These and many of the other secularized tracks give us a strong indication as to what this specialized style of musical expression is trying and hoping to communicate to us here, being an English European audience. As for her Christian vista of life, she offers us a few tantalizing hints heard from “My Best Friend”, “Jesus Remembered Me” and are examples of her own personal Christian beliefs.
