This album from Las Vegas-based rapper JGivens makes references to names of God in the Old Testament while his desire to declare spiritual truth comes through loud and clear. Some of the outstanding cuts here are "Sin City Bre(a)d", "The Bus Stop Song" and "Can't Say" with Jeremiah's rapping style being up to date but not copying his contemporaries. The album takes time to get your ears tuned in to the emcee's particularly west coast style beats but with lyrics talking about God and grace there is much here to inspire. There are some intriguing themes here such as Jacob wrestling with God and if you enjoy the more hardcore hip-hop style, JGivens' blend of jazz-tinged rapping and diverse musical influences make this an album not to be ignored.
